Samagri you'll need
- Karva (clay/metal pot) & lid
- Sieve (chalni)
- Diya, sindoor, water
- Sargi (pre-dawn meal from mother-in-law)
- Gauri-Ganesha idols
Step by step

Sargi & sankalpa
Eat sargi before dawn; take the nirjala (or phalahar) vrat sankalpa at sunrise.

Gauri-Ganesha pooja
Worship Gauri, Ganesha and the karva through the day; listen to the Karva Chauth katha.

Evening puja with women
Gather with other sumangalis, exchange karvas and hear the vrat katha together.

Chandra darshan & paran
At moonrise, offer arghya to Chandra, view the moon and husband through a sieve, then break the fast.
