  • 7/14 varieties of naivedya

Step by step

  1. 1

    Sankalpa & kalasha

    Purify, do sankalpa and set the kalasha with the Ananta form on a serpent-coil (darbha).

    Shodashopachara pooja

    Worship Ananta Padmanabha with sixteen upacharas.

    Ananta-daara pooja & dharana

    Worship the 14-knot thread and tie it on the arm.

    Katha & aarti

    Read the Ananta vrata katha (Kaundinya), offer naivedya and aarti.

Note: Often continued as an annual vow for fourteen years, then completed with udyapana.
